MAGNOLIA
A custom suite of website applications
A custom suite of website applications
Magnolia is a high-end audio/video brand owned by Best Buy. The sales team is required to use different kinds of applications (online and offline) to manage projects and perform daily tasks.
Our team reimagined and integrated a suite of website applications, called Customer Experience Management (CXM), to leverage its many legacy back-office databases, workflows and tools, with the goal of providing a central location for the users to access and perform their required tasks.
Magnolia managers are required to perform weekly and monthly tasks that include walking the showroom, checking in with their employees, and submitting reports to upper management. These tasks were tracked on an Excel spreadsheet, which was tedious and hard to use.
My first step as the UX Architect was to decipher all of the information in the spreadsheet and transform it into organized, easy-to-understand web pages. I created detailed wireframes and workflows to track all of the managers’ required tasks. Once the UX was complete, I designed the UI, applying the established design styles and adding visual elements and icons to help managers better understand the tasks.
As the number of CXM applications grew, a dashboard became necessary. We wanted to provide the user a way to see their tasks and progress in one centralized location.
Since this was a new app with no existing information, I spent a lot of time researching dashboards and effective ways to show information. I worked closely with the development team to make sure the dynamic content was realistic within our time frame and budget. Once we had all these details finalized, I designed the charts and other visual elements on the page, making sure everything was quickly accessible and easy to understand.
From branding to end-user and consumer insights work, our team was able to align new technology and UX best practices to the customer journey and enable Magnolia to continue their growth.
